A shortcut to export iOS photos Exif metadata

So you took an amazing photo with your fancy camera. And you want to post it somewhere. But you want serious photographers to take your seriously good picture seriously, so you need to post some specs.

You click the info button, notice you can't copy paste anything... and give up.

Is what I would say, till today! Now you can just install my shortcut and get that data stuck into your clipboard in like 3-4 taps! https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/d111741695c549c194049637ae31e5e8

Shortcuts

Changelog:

July 3rd, 2024:

  • Added Sony A7R IV

December 19th, 2023:

  • Fixed getting lens name for Cannon cameras that put it in the ExifAux instead of Exif. The shortcut will still default to Exif if available.

September 28th, 2023:

  • You can now override lens names!
  • Updated to add the current focal length in the @ section when using a zoom lens
  • Better handling of missing data
  • Better handling of models, manufacturers, or lenses with a period "." in the name. Just replace the period with nothing in the name. EG "Back Lens 5.7mm" becomes "Back Lens 57mm"

September 25th, 2023:

  • For some reason I could never use it with photos on macOS. Now it pulls from the clipboard as well so you can copy, then activate the shortcut on macOS.

September 14th, 2023:

  • Refactor for maintainability
  • Added the ability to include a date in the text
